A Simple Story of Great Truth
MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE AND KNOW IT.
My ever-present desire is to hear the “Voice” the voice of God. So many times in my life when I have struggled it was because I was not hearing the voice of God. Maybe there was too much of the world in me. Maybe I was listening to too many voices or just living a natural led life. Whatever the reason I made mistakes when I did not or could not hear His voice. I have learned that what I see affects how I hear and what I touch affects how I hear.
Here are a few scriptures to meditate on: Genesis 3:8 - And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:10 - And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. John 10:3 - To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. John 10:4 - And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. John 10:5 - And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. John 10:16 - And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
When you hear the voice you will not have to limit your life to the natural doing what you know. But rather doing what you heard the “voice” say. The bible says there are many voices and they do mean something, but when we hear the voice of God. We know that we know. I was thinking of how different sounds affect our daily life. The sounds of the morning tell you that it is not midnight, you have birds and other animals and there is a sound that comes from them that tell you it is morning. Sounds at night tell you that it is time to go to bed. 
People cheering speak of celebration. Let me tell you a little story and how this simple event showed me how we can hear and know the “voice”. This past Monday my son came running in the house and said that they found something. When I went to investigate it was a little baby bird and this bird had fallen out of its nest. We have two big trees and we were not sure which tree she had fallen out of because she could not fly she was a baby. We picked up the bird with a towel and found a box to put the bird in.
My wife Melissa said, ”make sure you do not touch the bird or the mother will not feed it or take care of it’. (Or maybe that the baby would be contaminated by a foreign substance and be tainted and not be able to respond to what she heard. Maybe what has happened to us as humans is we are so tainted by the world and other voices we cannot hear His voice and we can not properly respond.) Just a nugget their!!!. Back to the story, we put the box back in the tree and within a little bit a big blue jay came flying in and started squawking and that little bird began to go crazy it had heard the voice of its mother. The baby bird was a blue jay and we have been able to watch everyday the mother and even other blue jays come and feed this baby. This baby bird knew only one voice. Many birds fly around our beautiful trees and the baby just ignores them. The Lord began to speak to me about DNA, or I call it a life blueprint. The baby reacted to a sound an instinctive sound. When we are saved we are reborn and though there may be many voices there is only one sound that should reverberate in our spirit. It is the sound of our Father. When we are reborn in the spirit we have a new marker and it identifies our Fathers voice. Yes we hear sounds and other voices but the sound we want to hear should echo a familiar sound, should pull, and ring like no other sound or any other voice. We have watched this baby grow up each day because she hears her mothers voice coming and she responds to her mother. If this baby had lost its ability to not be able to hear the voice of its mother chances are it would not be fed and then be deformed and not be what it was meant to be. When we do not hear the “voice” we can be like a baby bird who has been contaminated and never be fed by our Father if we do not respond to the “voice”. God is speaking all the time maybe not volumes but maybe just one word. But He is speaking. Here is the scripture I have been meditating on for 2 weeks. Isaiah 50 : 4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. 5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. 6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. 7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? Let us stand together: who is mine adversary? Let him come near to me. 9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? Lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. 10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD that obeyeth the voice of his servant that walketh in darkness and hath no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God. May we hear His Voice today and obey.
